Samuel Pepys – evening talk at Arundel Museum

Perambulations with Pepys: the man and his City

Join us for a tour around the City of London, during which we will explore many aspects of the life of the writer one of the most famous diaries in the history of the world – Samuel Pepys. We’ll start from his birthplace just off Fleet Street, and ‘walk’ through the City, stopping at St Paul’s, the Royal Exchange and the Monument among other locations, as we talk about his many roles, for example as Master of a Livery Company, and his many relationships. We will finish near the Tower of London (where he was briefly imprisoned) and visit ‘our own church’ and finally the new memorial to his life and work. After all that it will certainly be….’and so to bed’!

7pm the Bar opens, 7.30pm talk starts.
